Modelling motion: Putting mathematics into Middle Years STEM activities

Summary

Modelling motion is a special topic in the Australian Academy of Science/Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers funded reSolve: Maths by Inquiry project. This inquiry based unit comprises seven activities focussing on modelling a variety of different motions with mathematics, using contexts such as rolling balls and falling objects. Students experience the power of mathematics in STEM activities and build their mathematical modelling skills. This workshop will provide an overview of the unit and give participants hands-on experience with materials and activities.
